Mobile Luke

No, Luke isn't walking yet. I finally figured out how to get photos from my phone to my PC. So here are some photos of Luke taken from our mobile phones over the last 11 months.

Trucks, Shadows, and Dap Kings

Luke's favorite thing to do at home right now is to push his two trucks all around the house.

He loves his wooden truck that Uncle Matt made him and his plastic cement mixer.
Luke concentrates really hard on driving his trucks.

Here are some cool pictures Daddy took of Luke playing with shadows.

It's never too early to practice good dental hygiene.

More Days in the Life of Luke

Here are some more descriptions of Luke's days at Day Care written by his teachers.

I enjoyed . . .
Being sensitive and throwing tantrums. :( I played but would get mad and throw my binky down. I gave Marlo and Agnieszka lots of hugs and snuggles and didn't want to be put down. :( Love Luke

I enjoyed . . .
Flirting with Renne! I'm going to be a heartbreaker! :) I really liked chasing her up and down the climbing structure, playing with the farm animals and camping gear, and splashing in the touch tub with funnels and pans! Love, Luke

I enjoyed . . .
Playing with the link rings and reading books-- well, chewing on them mainly! : ) I was very curious about everything and liked to inspect things. I had fun playing on the small structure with Renne and Reese and checking myself out in the mirror! Love, Luke

Haircut

This is how Luke came home from Day Care one day last week.
I guess this was a hint that his bangs were getting too long.

So I took Luke to The Perfect Look family haircut place up the street, and $4.00 later his bangs were cut.
I think it looks pretty cool.

Luke showing off his ga-ga collection.
I tried to get a photo of him without the binky in his mouth but it didn't work.

Raccoon Boy

Luke at a Superbowl party, coming down with a fever.

Ain't I sweet?

Home from school today and playing with Papa.Align Center
Able to reach the third drawer now. Uh-oh.

Prost!

Luke's Diary

Luke's new classroom teachers write summaries of his day as if Luke were talking. They do it for all 14 or so wobblers. It's pretty amazing. Here is what Luke did during his first two days in his new classroom.

Friday, January 30, 2009
Exploring my new classroom! There are so many fun toys and new friends! I really like the push cars-- I didn't walk with them, but I DO like to tip them over! I had a lot of fun with Renne-- She was really happy to see me! :)
Love, Luke

For lunch I ate: Quesadillas & minestrone soup, medium
I was: happy

Monday, February 2, 2009
Playing with my new friends and all the cool toys! I love the balls! They are fun to roll and throw. :) I was a little sensitive because I was tired but I was able to rest on the pillows! I loved the Cheerio touch tub. They are fun to eat and play with!
Love, Luke

For lunch I ate: Spaghetti & garlic bread, medium
I was: happy, tired

Then on Monday Luke was sent home early because he had a fever and he hasn't been back to school since. We're waiting to see how he feels tomorrow.

Our Wobb

Luke is growing by leaps and bounds. Next week is his last week in the Infant Room at day care, then he'll be transitioning to the Wobbler Room. But on Friday he was so bored and cranky in the Infant Room that they sent him to play with the Wobbs and he had the best time!

Luke is very social and bonds with certain babies at day care, at the moment in particular with a couple of baby girls named Ava and Renne. On Friday I watched as he and Renne carried on an animated back and forth conversation in baby babble and then they both suddenly burst out laughing like one of them told the funniest joke. It was kind of eerie to see him actually "talking" to someone.

Here are some photos from the last few days.

At day care Luke learned to feed himself with a spoon. It's messy, but he does it.

"Huh, I don't know how the shoes got there. I'm sure glad I don't have to pick them up."

Looking "cute as a button."

Ten minutes later, asleep but still sucking at the last few drops in the bottle.

After his nap and still feeling the need for a cuddle.

This picture was taken in the same spot where I used to take my belly pictures when I was pregnant.

Inauguration

Here is Luke pretending that he is at the Inauguration of President Obama.

High definition TV is the next best thing to being there.
Yay!

An historic occasion.

Decked out in the red, white and blue.
