Luke & Lilly

Luke has a friend named Lilly. They met when they were three months old, in the Infant Room at day care. Since the day they met, they have loved each other. In the last couple of months, we have tried to go on more playdates with Lilly before we move to St. Louis. Here are some pics from the playdates.

At a park in Lake Oswego.
Even at 4, Luke is such a stud.

On a different day at Jamison Square.

No lips touched. This is not a kiss. Just being silly.

I Like To Ride

Last week I took Jake on his first stroller ride. We went to the farmers market and grocery store. He was alert the whole time and fell asleep in the last 15 minutes. He really enjoyed his ride!

What a handsome boy!

Family of Four

I'm playing catch-up with some photos. Here are some that Grandma Siorek took on Jake's first morning at home, so about two weeks ago.

It's been interesting being a family of four. Of course it's more work for Mom and Dad, requiring a lot more teamwork. But we have more confidence this time and feel like old pros. Jake fits right in. It  feels like he is supposed to be here.

Happy One Week Birthday!

Jake turned one week old today! He is doing great, continuing to eat and sleep and poop and pee pretty regularly. He even stays awake for an hour or two at a time, just sitting quietly and looking around.

Here are some close-up portraits of the little man.

Welcome Home, Jake

Here are some pictures of Jake's first night and morning at home.

Jake was awake and alert during the whole car ride home, and did not cry or fuss. When he got home, he hung out on Mommy and Daddy's bed for awhile and let the whole family admire him.

Jake and Big Brother. Luke has been so wonderful. He ran to get stuffed animal friends for his brother and was trying to be careful to be quiet. He particular admired Jake's small hands.

From his morning photo shoot with Grandma.

Big yawn. Jake's first night was quiet and uneventful. He ate well and slept well in between feedings.

Meeting the Family

On Sunday morning, Jake got to meet his Grandma and Grandpa and Big Brother Luke.

First cuddle by Grandma, with many more to come!

Luke was curious but shy

You can't tell here, but Luke is very proud to be a big brother.

Sweet boy!

Looking right into the camera. When he's awake, Jake looks around and focuses on objects and takes it all in.

He's Here!

Jacob Evans Siorek was born on August 19, 2012 at 1:21 am.
He was 7lbs 3oz and 21" long.

Here he is only about 5 minutes old. Look at how alert he is! He is already a very smart and curious boy.

First weigh-in!
Enjoying his first bath.

Jake and Katie. Katie was incredible. She gave birth to Jacob naturally, without medication, with the most amazing physical and mental strength I have ever seen. Our family is beyond blessed to have Jacob in our lives. He is a little light.

Getting Ready For Little Brother

Siorek Family 2.0 is going to have a new addition soon and everyone is getting pretty excited. Expect the blog to be updated more often as the big day gets closer. We have a lot going on as we prepare for Jake's arrival, including selling our house and planning our move to St. Louis by the end of September.

Luke is so excited that he is going to be a big brother. He loves opening the packages of clothes and baby gear that have been arriving. When he saw this onesie and I told him it said Little Brother he said, "But I'm the brother!" I think the concept is slowly settling in.

Here are cousins John, Annie, and Leo saying Hi to Luke, with a special shout-out to the newest cousin. They are so sweet!

And finally, here is a video they shot of me at work a couple of weeks ago. Skip to the 2-minute mark to hear me talk about our family.

Thinking It May Be Time

to start updating the blog again.
