Michigan

Luke and Mama went to Michigan last week. Dada came a few days later. Here is Luke on the plane. He was a little gentleman reading his books. He really wasn't too bad on the plane.

Luke got to visit with his Grandpa and Grandma Presley.

And his Grandma Stewart.

And his many cousins. Here is Luke with Anya.

Cousin Gabi and Luke had the best time together.

Gabi was Luke's partner in crime the whole time.

One day we went to Grandma Stewart's house and Gabi and Luke played with the hose.

Garden Fun

Here is Luke enjoying a home-grown tomato fresh off of the vine.

He was just being silly here. He didn't actually seem to like the tomato that much.

Portland Children's Museum

One Sunday morning in July Luke woke up and said, take me somewhere fun today, some place that I've never been.

So we took him to the Portland Children's Museum over by the Zoo.

The water room was the first stop and as you can imagine, Luke had a great time.

He would have kept playing but mom and dad were ready to move on.

The Train Room was next and at first it was great. Luke was very very excited about the trains.

But then he started to get frustrated when they wouldn't stay on the track, and we had a screaming meltdown.

We whisked him away to the Digger Room, to try to lift his spirits and take his mind off of the trains.

But very soon his heart wasn't in it anymore and his mind wandered back to those darn trains.

So we moved on again and Luke had a great time pushing the mini shopping carts all around the museum, even into rooms where they probably weren't expecting the shopping carts to go.

The Tree House room was fun. Luke likes to climb.

Finally, we climbed into the old Logger Train outside of the World Forestry Center.

Luke in St. Louis

Luke went to St. Louis with Daddy last week.
As you can tell from these pictures, he was very busy and had a lot of fun.

It's random photo time!
Here is Luke from a few weeks ago, the morning before his big haircut.

He was very engrossed in building a turkey out of stickers.
Then, Voila! The boy behind all that hair.
Uncle Matt came by to show us his new motorcycle, or "momo" as Luke says.
The pushcart is still a big hit.

15-Month Check-up

Luke had his 15-month check-up today. He weighs 29 pounds 3 ounces and measures 34" tall. He dropped into the 80th percentile for weight but is still in the 99th percentile for height. Except for these mysterious hives that come and go on his chest and back, he is in perfect health.

Luke does this quirky thing where he likes to move things methodically from one place to another. The other night he moved a stack of magazines from under a desk to the couch. He went back and forth between desk and couch, carrying one magazine at a time, until the whole stack was moved. In the video below, he is moving kitchen utensils one by one from a kitchen drawer to -- the bathroom linen closet, of course!

He didn't stop until the whole kitchen drawer was empty.

Peninsula Park

Luke and I went to Peninsula Park on Sunday. Peninsula Park is a gorgeous park in North Portland with a huge rose garden and a great playground. Here is Luke in the rose garden. What a little poser!

I really was afraid I'd have to hold Luke back from going into the fountain. There were a few older kids splashing around in it. I could see he was considering it.

But I think he decided it was too intimidating.
